Data Abstract
China's Income Distribution Project (1988-92), funded by Ford Foundation, was
conducted by Institute of Economic Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Science in
collaboration with some foreign scholars such as Keith Griffin, Carl Riskin and
John Knight. China's income survey consists of two parts: urban and rural. The size
of the urban sample is 9009 households and the rural one is 10258. Items surveyed
include basic information of both the sample households and their members, focusing
on income and wage, sources of income and household expenditure. For the rural households,
information of their assets and debts, sale and consumption of their products, and
purchase of production means were also collected.
The 1995 survey records information on urban and rural household income and expenditure
of that year. Because of the change in the economic structure in China, the questionnaire
was redesigned to reflect this change.

抽样说明：
本调查样本是在国家统计局城调队和农调队的调查大样本中进行二次抽样选取的。农村住户包括了除西藏和新疆之外的28个省份，城市样本只包括了北京、山西、辽宁、?shy;苏、安徽、河南、湖北、广东、云南、甘肃等10个省份。农村样本在县级的抽取是由省城调队根据省内不同县份的?shy;济发展水平决定的。每个省的样本分配基本上与省内人口数相一致。城镇样本基本上覆盖了城调总队在被选取省份的全部样本。
